Why PICKCR saves you hours of work on every tournament
Running a pickleball tournament by hand is, underneath it all, a massive administrative job disguised as a sport: registration spreadsheets, eyeballing groups together, calculating schedules, telling every single person when they play, and finally sitting down to manually re-enter everything to upload to DUPR. PICKCR exists to take that work off your plate, start to finish.
From registration to groups, without you lifting a finger
Someone registers from the tournament's public page — picks their category, and they're already in the system. From there, with one button, the system builds the groups automatically, using whatever method you choose: random, by DUPR ranking, snake seeding, or a combination — no writing names on paper, no building brackets by hand.
Schedules, calculated on their own
Once the groups exist, the system automatically works out which match goes to which group and at what time, based on the courts and time slots you set up from the start. Nobody has to ask "what time do I play?" — it's published, and it updates itself if anything changes.
From results to the DUPR file, in one click
When the tournament closes, PICKCR generates the reports and builds the file ready to upload to DUPR directly — the same work that used to take hours of copying and pasting into a spreadsheet is now a single button.
Open Play: as simple as a switch
For everyday pickup play, the idea is even simpler: you generate a link, people sign up right there, and from that same link they start playing — scores update live, and at the end the system marks it as done. No app to download, no complicated account to set up — everything just works by signing in with Google.
A map to find where to play
PICKCR also keeps an interactive directory with a map of pickleball facilities across Costa Rica. Any club or court can register directly from the public page to show up there, with its Google Maps location and number of courts — so anyone looking for a place to play can find one easily, instead of relying on scattered WhatsApp recommendations.
Round Robin Express and a ranking of its own, separate from DUPR
Beyond building instant Round Robins, this part of the platform keeps its own recreational ranking system, built for national and regional leagues — a different kind of competition for players who'd rather not play under the DUPR system. A country-wide national ranking is on its way, pulling together what's already happening at each venue.
A player directory that already knows who's who
Behind the scenes, PICKCR already has a database of more than 600 players across Costa Rica loaded in. That means an organizer almost never has to type a name from scratch — the system autocompletes as soon as you start typing, saving real time every time a category, a group, or an Open Play session gets set up.
Security and scale, already handled
Since everything runs on Google's infrastructure, you're not depending on your own server that could go down on a busy day — you get the same security and the same capacity used by apps with millions of users, without ever having to think about it.
Less administrative work, more time for what actually matters: people playing.
